Sweetpea (2024)

TX on Sky Atlantic on 10th October 2024, Focus Marine supported this production with standby safety, in-water support and a floating scaffolding-based pontoon to facilitate key camera-crane and dolly shots during a complex night shoot on Regents Canal in central London.

Our custom modular floating platform was transported to location on a standard flatbed road trailer, and built in situ – saving the need for cranes or complex lifting logistics. Once assembled, the platform was manoeuvred into position using our specialist inshore aluminium camera boat.

Propelled by a 6kW electric outboard, our zero-emissions camera boat and pontoon setup provided an agile, eco-friendly and sustainable propulsion solution with no vibration or engine noise when standing by.
The structure of our modular camera platforms can be tailored to accommodate differing payloads and production requirements.

On this production, we utilised a 6m x 4m open deck configuration with permanent safety handrails along two edges. Grips were able to anchor the crane base directly to the underpinning structural framework of the platform with ease, directly accessing the stock scaffolding backbone and rated lifting/tie-down points.
Rigging was so straightforward, in fact, that several additional departments sought to rig their own equipment to the platform — at various stages, we had SFX rain towers, lighting fixtures, and even the entirety of video village securely floating along the canal.
Benefitting from remarkable stability, our scaffolding pontoons can carry a large payload without any appreciable flex, and can be outfitted with safety handrails, deck lighting, edge protection, and a non-slip scaffolding board deck.

Platform configurations can be built to spec up to 20m x 6.4m per module, with a massive 15700kg payload.
