Swimming / Drowning

A conceptual portfolio shoot for Full Circle model Justin Gillett. Concept Text: We have aspirations, goals and dreams. We aspire to things from a young age. These aspirations can be too big at times and so they turn into dreams. And we set goals to achieve these aspirations and ideally live the dream. Sometimes we work too hard to achieve and sometimes to work too little and don’t end up achieving anything at all. And sometimes we confuse the two and end up working hard but feel like we’re making no progress or working too little and feel like we’re making so much progress. It’s a contrasted mental state. We sometimes find ourselves knee deep in it, we sometimes find ourselves treading in it, we sometimes find ourselves swimming in it, we sometimes find ourselves drowning and we sometimes find ourselves washed up in it. This is a photographic project which aims to capture the above idea visually.
