Syncona — Articulating a new purpose and positioning for a leading life sciences investment company

Focused on building the next generation of global leaders in life science, Syncona’s investment model has been developed to build long term sustainable growth by supporting their portfolio companies from scientific research to commercialisation.
Syncona has a strong and deep purpose-led culture – to invest to extend and enhance human life. After Syncona developed and articulated this foundational motivation internally, we worked with the client team to communicate their purpose in addition to helping position Syncona as the voice of authority within gene and cell therapy domains.

The website and annual report were the primary channels to communicate the new purpose, in addition, Syncona wanted to demonstrate their hands-on agile leadership, the ability to attract world-class management teams, their robust and proven value creation story and establish Syncona's commitment to delivering a positive and sustainable impact.
As part of the website design, we evolved the use of the visual identity and implemented new photography to further refresh and build out the image library we have developed for Syncona to date. Increased use of video, a deep insights section and comprehensive site taxonomy help to promote leadership and domain expertise across the site, delivering a considered and highly effective user experience.
