In July 2020, I decided to start up a handmade face mask business. I started up an Instagram page which then led onto me creating personalised masks for various companies across the UK with my biggest client being Costa Coffee. I use a combination of printing and embriodery when I create branded masks for companies. I wanted to offer help to a local charity so I donated £500 worth of face coverings to Highland Hospice. Additionally, I reached out to a charity that are based in Glasgow that work towards ending homelessness across the UK. I took their logo, manipulated it into a design which I then printed onto fabric via a sublimation printer which resulted in a really effective print for a face mask. Each one of these particular masks that are sold result in profits being donated to the charity. From this I have been offered the opportunity to supply more masks for them to sell on their ASOS Marketplace as well as their clothing store in Glasgow.
