PROJECT CREATED TO PROMOTE MARINHA DO TEJO (PORTUGUESE NAVY), IN LISBON - YOUNG LIONS ROGER HATCHUEL ACADEMY'S BRIEF

1ST PLACE

THE CHALLENGE : Portugal's history is connected to the ocean, the river, the sailors and their sailing adventures. Marinha do Tejo represents its cultural inheritance and reflects its past. However, despite all the portuguese people being aware of this fact, nobody really reminds it or thinks about it, which makes them forget about Marinha do Tejo as well. How can we bring portuguese people and this brand closer?
THE INSIGHT : If there is one sound universally loved, it has to be the sound of water. The water splashing against the boats, the waves, the sound of the river flowing. In Lisbon, people are so close to this sound that they don't really seem to notice it nowadays.
THE IDEA : Creating music made by Tejo's sounds will make people pay attention to it. Using a special recorder, we will capture its sounds (waves, boats, honks), speed them up, slow them down and mix them to compose unique melodies. For example, imagine Frank Sinatra's song Bonita played and remixed by Tejo.

How it works STEP BY STEP
1 - Capture Tejo's sounds for a week.
2 - After recorded, sounds will be grouped according to their rhythm and sound wave.
3 - After organizing a database, we will share with the portuguese people this idea and ask them to tell us which songs they would like to hear remixed by Tejo.
4 - Using the database we already have, we will compose some of those songs.
5 - All the songs will be available online on Facebook, Spotify and Youtube.
6 - The action will reach its climax on May 20 - Sea's Day and Marinha do Tejo's anniversary - with a concert by the sea.
