TARO: MADE IN NYC is a look into the life of a working rapper living in New York, arguably the birthplace of Hip Hop itself.
TARO is a New Yorker who comes from Tribeca, Manhattan where his love for Hip Hop, as well as his individual lyricism developed throughout his teenage years. Watching the neighbourhood he lived in change over the years has played a huge part in his writing and still inspires his work now.
Although, like many artists TARO came upon hard times, it stimulated a very emotional, philosophical approach to his writing. Where other artists may have quit under the pressure, TARO thrived and the humility he shows in his work is humbling.
After hooking up with MAX FRIEDMAN, a close friend and manager in the making, they went through the process of recording, and developing a brand. After a stroke of good fortune, they linked up with producer TASOS, and produced his first EP, FIRST BORN SON.
First Born Son was a culmination of the hard work and experience that Taro and Max had had over the years. It allows us to take a look inside the thoughts and feelings of New Yorkers during a seminal point in the City’s history
