THALASSA - Pap Magazine, May 2022

  • Darcey Axon

‘Thalassa’ was shot as part of my final major project at University. The title is of Ancient Greek origin and means ‘the female personification of the sea’. This editorial focuses on the idea of mutation in sea life; my aim was to merge humankind and life beneath the surface to create a series of ‘mutated’ hybrid characters. What might we look like if one day, in the not-so-distant future, we need to evolve to live underwater?
