The 2020 Batsford Prize
Leading art book publisher Batsford presents The Batsford Prize 2020. The award is open for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying at a UK institution, with over £4,000 of prizes to be won. The theme for the Batsford Prize 2020 is ‘Our Planet’. We are looking for entries that show innovative and well-crafted interpretations of the theme, in terms of subject or materials used, or a combination of the two.
For the 2020 Batsford Prize, I decided I wanted to do something in our current year, at the time it was between COVID or the Australian Bush Fires, eventually I decided on creating a panoramic series of illustrations to highlight key themes and imagery that occurred in Australi.
This was the original first composition before changing it, due to the panoramic feeling too busy, not allowing certain illustrations to breath.
