The Age of No Retirement

‘The Age of No Retirement?’ was a landmark event held at the Oxo Tower, London, 1-6 October 2014. Bringing together for the first time employers, policy makers, corporations (big and small), designers, artists, academics, inventors and social commentators to explore the social and economic opportunities of a Britain in which the average person now lives 10 years longer than was expected just 40 years ago. Living longer brings with it its own set of challenges in terms of healthcare provision. While many of us will thrive in retirement, others will not. The retirement years often see an exacerbation of chronic long-term conditions including cardiovascular, respiratory, and perhaps, mental health issues.
