‘The Bag’ is Kelly Cho's first collaborative collection with her parents’ jewellery business: the gold metallic belt, name tags and details are products of their brand. Solid structural designs, Glossy black leathers and gold metallic details are the significance of this collection, which creating a mature, sexy, powerful and avant-garde mood. The Bag is an A/W womenswear collection that is an interpretation of Baudrillard’s theory of Simulacra and Simulation (1981), exploring the symbolism of bags. The use of bags throughout the collection acts as the connoted symbol of ‘simulacra’ and represents a ‘desire’ in contemporary fashion.
