THE BEAT GOES ON - POP UP

  • Renée Chinakwe-Venn

During my tenure at Chinakwe Ltd, I had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Project Manager for an exceptional Black History Month celebration, aptly titled "The Beat Goes On...". This vibrant event, held in the heart of London's Piccadilly Mayfair, was a dynamic fusion of art, fashion, and music, showcasing the rich cultural tapestry of the Black community. As Assistant Project Manager, I played a pivotal role in every aspect of the event, from writing press releases and sourcing sponsorships to overseeing promotion and event setup. One highlight was securing B.W Chazea as the sponsor for the exclusive Private View Night on October 13th, 2023. This cocktail reception allowed guests to mingle with the artists, gain insight into their creative processes, and experience the fusion of heritage and modernity firsthand. The launch day was an overwhelming success, with over 600 guests in attendance, further highlighting the event's impact and resonance within the community. The event was a testament to the resilience and progress embodied in Black History Month, with each artist amplifying voices, challenging norms, and reclaiming narratives through their art and fashion. It was an honor to contribute to such a dynamic celebration of Black culture, and I am proud to have been part of an event that truly resonated with attendees and creators alike.
