How do you define a man who is gentle? In our generation filled with many questions and opinions, it can become an easy influence for us to categorise men from past and present experiences, but what does it truly mean to be a becoming gentleman in today’s society? “Society has made it seem that looking good outwardly without taking into account the inward accountability one has to make, to neglecting their mental wellbeing at the detriment of keeping up with social trends.” In collaboration with Mr Adedapo Dalley, we will be hosting our ninth book series on The Becoming Woman, focusing on Chapter 8: The Becoming Gentleman. The chapter includes short contributions from single, courting and married men on their perspectives of what it means to be a Becoming Gentleman which we will dive into much deeper. For women desiring to be in a relationship, the question to ask yourself is how are you preparing and identifying what a becoming gentleman looks like today? Do we have a perception of what the becoming gentleman should look like including the following points: - A very good listener who does not listen to respond, but listens to understand - A hardworker who is able to provide for his family, being present and emulating leadership traits in the home - An overly confident man who emulates physical attributes more than inner character - Knowing who he is first before committing himself in a relationship. If you missed our previous book series in June, you definitely don’t want to miss our next one coming up on Friday 26th July at 6.00pm (GMT) on Zoom. We look forward to seeing you on Friday 26th July at 6.00pm – a Zoom link will be sent two days prior to the series and on the day to your email.
