Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

When people think of teen movies, John Hughes is and always will be the first name that comes to mind. People disagree about which of his movies is the best. It could be Ferris Bueller's Day Off, which was the best example of the kind of easy, breezy, fun teen comedy that came to define many years of the 1980s. Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a slacker that everyone likes. He decides to take the day off and go to downtown Chicago with his friends Cameron (Alan Ruck) and Sloane (Mia Sara), saying he's sick at home. What Bueller doesn't know is that his sister (Jennifer Grey) and the principal are planning to find out about his lies and finally get him in trouble. The movie has a lot of charming characters and funny jokes, as well as some great music ("Oh Yeah" by Yello will be stuck in your head after any viewing). Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a treat and one of John Hughes's most pure-fun movies. It has low stakes and is just plain fun. UWatchfree movies genres are very wide on this site.

The Talented Mr. Ripley

Based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel, The Talented Mr. Ripley is about a charming con man named Tom Ripley (Matt Damon) who gets paid by a rich man to find his son Dickie (Jude Law) and then gets close to Dickie and his partner Marge (Gwyneth Paltrow). Tom Ripley was first seen by Italian audiences in the 1960 film Purple Noon. American audiences saw him for the first time in The Talented Mr. Ripley, in which he was played by Matt Damon, who had just won an Oscar for his role in Good Will Hunting. Damon does the exact opposite of what he did in that feel-good drama. He plays Ripley, who quickly becomes obsessed with Dickie, in an unsettling way. The performance is sold by Damon's charm, which makes people like him even as his actions get more and more strange. The Talented Mr. Ripley is one of the best movies of the 1990s. It is both exciting and scary.

The Nice Guys

Shane Black is one of the most unique screenwriters in Hollywood today. His scripts for Lethal Weapon, Last Action Hero, and The Long Kiss Goodnight show a charming mix of action and comedy that has influenced almost every action comedy since. After writing the charming Iron Man 3, Black wrote his first original movie in ten years, The Nice Guys, which wasn't as good as it could have been. The Nice Guys is a buddy cop action comedy like many of Shane Black's other movies. It's about a private eye (Ryan Gosling) and a tough guy (Russell Crowe) who team up to look into the disappearance of a teenager (Margaret Qualley) in Los Angeles in 1977. When you add in the funniest screenplay Shane Black has written in years and the amazing chemistry between Gosling and Crowe, you get buddy cop film heaven. The Nice Guys is a surprisingly dark blast that is full of twists, laugh-out-loud jokes, and a welcome mistrust of American institutions.

Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist

The latest documentary film in the Untold series is about one of the strangest scandals in football history. The Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist is about the life and career of promising All-American Notre Dame football player Manti Te'o and how an online relationship threatened to derail his life and career. In 2013, an article said that Te'o's dead girlfriend never existed, which caused a media circus. He was soon the subject of many jokes and memes, and he quickly became one of the biggest jokes in sports. This documentary tries to set the record straight once and for all. It talks to both Te'o and Naya Tuiasosopo, the woman who pretended to be his girlfriend, to find out the real story behind the sensationalised media coverage. The Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist is a must-see for any modern football fan because it is another great example of how well the Untold series does at making great sports documentaries.

Look Both Ways

We sometimes think about what our lives would be like if we had made different choices. Would our whole lives be different? In the 1990s, Gwyneth Paltrow's movie Sliding Doors made this idea famous. Now, Netflix's Look Both Ways updates the idea for a 2022 audience. Riverdale star Lili Reinhart is the show's executive producer, and Reinhart also plays the main character, Natalie. On the day before she graduates from college, Natalie's life goes in two different directions: in one, she gets pregnant and raises a child in her hometown, and in the other, she moves to L.A. to pursue her dream job. The movie is an honest look at how we live our lives and how different paths can lead to both good and bad results. It is refreshingly feminist and, unfortunately, all too timely in its pro-choice politics. Danny Ramirez, who was in Top Gun: Maverick, plays the romantic lead and is just as charming as Reinhart. Look Both Ways is another great comedy-drama from Netflix. It is thoughtful and sweet.

Wedding Season

Asha and Ravi decide to act like they are a couple so that neither of their parents will get involved in their love lives. This gets rid of Asha's mom, who is upset that she is still single at her age, and keeps Ravi's parents from bothering him after he quit his high-powered job. Even Asha's mom loves Ravi! Spending so much time together at different weddings makes them wonder if it's just an act or if there might be more to it. Even though it seems like there aren't many romantic comedies out right now, Netflix keeps giving us ones that feel like instant classics.

Day Shift

Vampire killing is hard work, but it pays the bills. Jamie Foxx plays Bud, a typical blue-collar union worker in Los Angeles who cleans pools. That's what he tells his family, at least. He actually hunts vampires. After being away from the game for a while, he returns with a rookie (played by Dave Franco) who would rather try to talk to them than kill them. J.J. Perry, a stuntman who has worked on movies like the first Mortal Kombat movies and Django Unchained, is making his directorial debut with Day Shift.

Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

Will Ferrell plays Ron Burgundy, a news anchor in San Diego, in one of his most famous roles. Ron is at the top of the network until his attractive co-host, Veronica Corningstone, makes him feel insecure (Christina Applegate). After breaking a rule by reading a swear word from the teleprompter on network TV, he is left to pick up the pieces. What should an anchorman do when he can't anchor anymore? Anchorman is one of the most memorable movies of the 2000s. It has a huge cast and a lot of cameos by famous people.

Carter

A man wakes up with no memories and a voice in his ears. He must do what the woman in the earpiece tells him to do in order to stay alive. After infecting the United States and North Korea, a zombie-like plague is about to spread to the rest of the world. The only key to the future of humanity is in the hands of a small child, whom he must protect with his life. He has to keep up no matter how dangerous the mission gets. Carter's big fight scenes remind me of movies like Crank, The Transporter, and Taken, which were very fast and very violent. Joo Won, who plays the main character in this movie, is back on the big screen after doing his required military service.

The Gray Man

A couple of years after directing Avengers: Endgame, which you might have heard of, the Russo brothers are back at Netflix with an action movie starring Ryan Gosling, who you might also have heard of. The Gray Man is based on the same-named novel and follows Gosling, the CIA's best mercenary, as he uncovers dangerous secrets the agency is hiding and is then hunted around the world by a psychotic former colleague (Chris Evans) and other assassins. Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, and Billy Bob Thornton join Gosling and Evans in this fast-paced action thriller that takes place all over the world. Evans' role as a murderer is a great change of pace for him, and it's great to see Gosling back in the movies after four years. The Gray Man looks like it will be one of the most popular movies of the summer. It is thrilling, confusing, and just plain exciting.
