The Blacklist Magazine

  • Olivia Kellerman

The Blacklist looks at culture, art and fashion, celebrating and discussing taboo topics within the black community. Focusing on black creatives based in the UK and the work that they create, this platform offers a space for contributors and readers to engage with each other and create a community where their work can be shared and promoted. Shortlisted for the New Fashion Media Award at Graduate Fashion Week.

We believe in inclusivity; this is not just a publication about the black community for the black community but, is a publication that can be picked up by anyone who wants to learn more.

Over the last few years many platforms, publications and collectives have erected for different people within the black community, some celebrate being queer, sex-positive, some embrace the past, some look to the future. But taking a step back from all these platforms the media (news, tv, film) that we see every day still refuses to acknowledge that there is more to the black experience than gun and knife crime and growing up in the ghetto.
