The #BreastCheckSelfie initiative

Background: Young women spend quite a significant amount of time on a daily basis creating selfies and exposing their bodies in poses that would involve touching themselves for the sole purpose of looking hot, yet, they wouldn't spend a minute on breast self-examination once a year. So why not giving them the opportunity to create the selfies they want and have fun but still, making it useful and educational for both creator and viewer? The #BreastCheckSelfie Instagram-initiative invites young women to create selfies that somehow feature the poses of self-examination. My aim is to shed some light on breast cancer awareness in a younger target group who can't be bothered by a subject such as cancer or breast examination. I believe these selfies can help a younger generation get involved while having fun and maybe learn more about the topic without being exposed to anything dramatic, shocking or depressive.
