The British library sounds is a specialised collection of historical sounds, and music. I was tasked with developing a responsive microsite.
The Challenge -The history of the sound archive can be traced back to 1905, when it was first suggested that the British Museum should have a collection of audio recordings of poets and statesmen. However, the sound archives now provide a range of services and an online catalogue of over 3 million recordings. The challenge was to take one category within the British library’s collection, and use it to influence the designing and building of a website to accommodate a community, looking to gain more knowledge.
My Approach - My approach for the microsite was to present the site as a music platform, which would allow the audience to listen to classical music that had been stored on the main website. Furthermore be a gateway into discovering further knowledge on various classical composers.
