The Chanctonbury Ring

The Chanctonbury Ring is a story set in the 14th Century based on an old English Folktale. On his way home Thomas meets his friend Alice, who relates a tale she has heard concerning a ring of trees on a nearby hill. If you walk around the trees seven times the Devil will appear and offer you a fruit. If you take the fruit he will take your soul. Tom is dismissive but agrees to put the tale to the test with Alice later that day. When Alice doesn’t show up Tom decides to complete the ritual himself.
