The Crowds of Chernobyl

  • Daniel Williams
This Documentary Film explores the reasons behind people's fascination with the (arguably) most famous exclusion zone in the world. The film attempts to explain the drive behind the 'dark tourism' industry that has blossomed in this nuclear wasteland since 2011, when the site was opened up for tourists. Additionally, it explores the different reasons behind why some people have made the zone a permanent part of their life. Particularly, in spite of the health risks involved with exposure to heightened levels of radiation that remain in the area after the nuclear disaster that took place in 1986.
