SUTARI is a Polish group playing folk music. SUTARI combines style, temperament and rhythm of the traditional Polish songs with the contemporary elements of sound and interpretation. The group plays not only the traditional instruments but also everyday objects and uses their potential as musical devices.
In creating the identity of the album, I aimed at finding a modern form related to the Polish folk tradition. I drew my inspiration from shapes of the traditional Polish embroideries that were in the past almost exclusively made by women. Geometrical illustrations go together with the photos of the artists that lead listeners through various soundscapes of the album.
