The Department of Masculinity

My response to a competition brief based on invisibility; 'The department of Masculinity" is based on an imaginary power structure discussed in Grayson Perry's book 'the descent of man'. This theoretical organisation creates invisible pressures to keep male behaviours in check, dictating their actions, emotions, expression and performance. My aim was to create looks taking inspiration from the complexities that exist within the male mind, giving the wearer nowhere to hide and expressing that which is usually discouraged or shunned in everyday male expression.
