The Dodo and The Seed
As part of the Critical Writing In Art and Design Masters, students collaborate with the Critical Practice course to create a project for an external partner. Myself and five other students created artworks and texts inspired by the recent work and studio space of Siobhan Davies Dance, which resulted in the exhibition 'The Dodo and The Seed'.

We created a leaflet featuring texts by myself and two other students focusing on the difficulties of the creative process, archiving and legacy in choreography. To accompany this, myself and another student conducted recorded interviews with choreographers who work with Siobhan Davies about what it means to collaborate creatively and the different types of collaboration that can emerge. From this material and an interview with two artists who created a collaborative piece in the studio building for the exhibition, we edited the interviews to reflect the dynamics of their relationships into pieces which could be listened to on headphones in the studio building.
