The Five Senses Alphabet

The Five Senses Alphabet, the art or procedure of arranging type or processing data and printing from it while be in a faculty by which the body perceives an external stimulus; one of the faculties of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.

Creating a typeface that utilises all of the human senses. Designers often neglect many of the senses, but typography can be a sensual experience. Multisensory typography is a font that can turn letters into formative perceptions of the alphabet.


This project stemmed from my final major project, from developing my final major project I branched off, and created the Alphabetical Identites.

I created the five senses alphabet, each letterform has been constructed by the results from participants and individuals perceptions of the external stimulus that the faculties of sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch.
