The happy Prince

Within my Bachelor Degree Thesis, I was asked to develop a visual book project. Without distorting the features of the book as the author intended it, a visual book offers the audience an amplified reading experience. You read a book, at the same time you have a key to the reading given from the designer. For the final laboratory of the third year, a course held by Mario Piazza, the project was to create a “visual book”, not an illustrated one: the visual part needed to be perfectly combined with the meaning of the stories. I assumed that the style of my book needed to be really simple, to characterize every story with one color and to find a way to put images inside the text also in visual mode. The project was filled with transparent pages holding images right in the middle of the stories.
