The Heath Speaks

What does it mean to visually tell the story of a place? This interactive website allows users to reconnect to their non-human neighbours and question the centering of human narratives in conversations around climate change. I wanted to create a digital resting point that would reflect a specific ecosystem (Hampstead Heath) and change according to weather data. The website would also “tell” stories from its inhabitants based on that same data. Humans aren’t the sole inhabitants of Earth, and non-humans have lots to teach humans, one of them being the practice of being present, slowing down, and letting things just be. So of course, the website had to have a meditative quality, but its purpose would be to encourage the user to go outside and enjoy said ecosystem. Find out more at : http://www.theheathspeaks.world/
