In times of the pandemic, we’ve never been more physically apart. Humanity is emotionally homeless and exiled from its surroundings. We are all staring into our screens trying to feel connected to the people and places we miss. This digital interconnectivity has optimised a connection never seen before, allowing for an expression of voice and opportunity that pre Covid would not have been heard. The current climate has removed discriminatory bias, proving that individuals differing in age, gender, culture, ethnicity have the ability to come together in the need for human strength, survival and solidarity. The Home Diaries explores the control of identity within the digital age and how we navigate the volatility of digital spaces to represent ourselves. The project celebrates unfiltered perspectives of life during the lockdown, bringing people together through a global online community.
