The Journal Newspaper

The Journal is a broadsheet newspaper focused on events from the year of 1934. Although the newspaper's contents are dated, the newspaper itself was meant to appear modern and show these stories in a current look. I decided to explore very modern and current shapes and colours when exploring my newspaper. I was interested in changing up the look of a common broadsheet newspaper so decided to use currently popular colours in the form of pastel greens, pinks and peaches. Along with modern typography and current structure for newspapers, The Journal developed into a unique and interesting broadsheet that stands out from the crowd and brings historical events into a new, current format of design.
