The Last Leaf Illustration

This is a commission piece based on the story of a young girl who was ill with pneumonia and was convinced she would die on the day that the last leaf would fall off the tree. One night, her neighbor, an elderly painter, painted a fake leaf to give her hope. She recovered, but the neighbor died after spending that night in the frigid weather and catching pneumonia himself.
