THE LESS SERIES

Three collages based on the concept of the word "less". The definition of less is either a smaller amount, minus/taking away something or of lower rank/importance. The aim of these works is to counteract the words that use the suffix less with a different perspective than their original definition. ​ Powerless = Less:Power (Using a black man as the centre provides the perspective of a black king/black male in a higher position and how rare that is to see in the western world. In that case, would less power be the right way to go when there isn't much already? ​ Lifeless = Less:Life (This collage plays on the idea of seeing the beauty in things with no life. In the original image, the model looked much paler and empty which matched perfectly with the found quote) ​ Fearless = Less:Fear (Based on the concept of the unknown. Having fears is always described to be a bad thing - "You need to face you're fears!" But sometimes they're fears for a reason)
