The Lion Inn

  • Geoffrey Idun

Branding design, brand management and UI/UX for the Lion Inn, a traditional, yet stylish country pub located in Clifton-upon-Teme, Worcestershire. This project was featured in the hardback book, Do Not Disturb – Hotel Graphics & Branding.

I partnered with the Lion Inn to establish a brand strategy and design language for both its print and digital marketing collateral, bringing the brand story forward.

The approach was three-pronged. Throughout the experience, we wanted to focus on simplicity, education, and convenience. Our goals were to build brand awareness, encourage engagement, and drive conversion—all the while keeping those principles top of mind.

I designed a logo that incorporated modern geometric shapes to created the symbol of the lion, while also updating the typeface to a modern, yet distinguished font. The new logo and brand colours were extended across all the bar and guesthouse materials and employee uniforms, as well as the Lion Inn’s new exterior signage.

Client Feedback:

“Geoffrey was the perfect fit. From the moment we started working together I knew we were on the same page. The ideas flowed… they developed…. and ultimately came together to complete a truly professional package that had myself, customers and employees suitably impressed. The process as a whole was seamless and I will be using Idun Design for future projects.”
