This is a personal project which explores a location where human destruction and environmental reclamation meet. Due to a series of landslips occurring since 1928, the residents of Southview village were forced to leave their homes to nature and move on. By 1994 the last entrance to the village was cut off and most of the houses had been destroyed by the elements or had fallen to the beaches below. Over the last two years I have visited what remains of the village to document the last few structures that stand. It is a story that has been forgotten about, even within the local community and is what motivated me to capture the once thriving community that was ill-fated against the course of nature.
