The Magdalen Magazine, the University of Dundee's premier student publication, covered a variety of topics in each issue, including but not limited to; current affairs, student life, arts & entertainment, lifestyle, fashion, science and technology. As arts and entertainment editor of the Magdalen Magazine, on top of providing coverage and commentary of recent music/films/art releases and local cultural events and concert, I had the duty of assigning articles and deadlines to writers. In my year as deputy editor of the magazine, I directed both the science, technology and enterprise editors in their work, managed the publication’s social media presence, organized promotional and commemorative events for the magazine and founded the publications copy-editing team. Towards the end of my tenure in 2017, the publication was the recipient of two runner-up awards for Best Publication and Best Design at the Student Publication Association National Conference. I was also personally awarded by the university for Outstanding Commitment to Student Media at the Dundee University Student Association Media Awards the same year.
