The Manifest

A Manifest is, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, "to show something clearly, through signs or actions". The briefing was to write a manifest about the Portuguese city of Aveiro. It was mandatary to use strong and powerful adjectives and make a new approach to the city's positioning. Aveiro is a small Portuguese city known for its canals, picturesque streets, great traditional food and sandy but wavy beaches. I wanted to show the city as an escape to all the big European cities and highlight its unique characteristics. By choosing a vintage scene from a fisherman with its baby, opposing to a modern and summer beach, I wanted to show a peaceful scene because that is what you feel once you arrive there. And the blue bold brush was to remind us the old wooden fishing boats and the wooden shelters.
