"The melody of peace"

This project was about making an artwork that was all developed based from a book. Charlie and the Chocolate factory was the book I chose to do my project on as although it is a children's book it presents dark and complex themes. The major theme i picked was chose as it is just so overlooked when talking about the book. What I found that I wanted to look deeper into and discover what we overlook when discussing such a massive topic as ‘chaos’. As I was researching how chaos is represented to society, I came upon the knowledge of chaos sounds in nature and society. For example the waves, Rain, heartbeat or the wind are the sounds of natural chaos while as road traffic, typing on a keyboard or singing are more man made. So I wanted to make a sort of device to combine both natural and man made sounds. I made a sculpture that you could listen to chaos sounds that when going through the speaker device creates a more enchanting and calming sound and when you listen to it after having a chaotic day you will feel calm and relaxed and the opposite of having a chaotic and stressful day. The whole idea for the sculptor is to show the contrast of chase and piece by using chaotic sounds of nature and man made sounds.
