The Midnight Walk

  • Veronika Snajdrova

The Midnight Walk is inspired by every woman who has faced sexism, catcalling and objectification; it represents the fight by all women and a call to arms for equality. Fired by as initial response to sexist advertising from the second half of the twentieth century. My collection represents strength and independence, whilst embracing femininity, intimacy, softness and sexuality. Intimacy and sexuality should be fully in woman's hands and shown as she desires. My collection celebrates natural sexiness of the female body but puts her needs and desired above all else; comfort and confidence through female gaze. Being a woman who has faced the familiar fight, the collection is voiced through my feisty alter ego Felisha, who refuses to be defined by fear of body confidence. Felisha embodies all the struggles and values what women fight for. She owns up to her need for intimacy, which is crucial part of her femininity, something to be protected, not abused and objectified.

The Midnight Walk is dedicated to every woman, every bad ass bitch; soft yet provocative, not affraid to feel her feelings and speak her thoughts out loud. Her image answers only to herself. Pieces are designed and knitted to put a woman at the centre of her World; it breaks stereotypical views on women's bodies and what is traditionally as sexy. It offers new angles and allows and uncovering of unusual, beautiful parts of female body, by choice of the woman and not the man. In these pieces, she takes full control over the way she looks and the way she feels. Felisha is unapologetically herself and inspires others. Felisha is all of us!
