A heartfelt story of courage and hope, which brings to the forefront the way tribalism, poverty, displacement affect Nubians’ lives.'The Other Tribe' follows the journey of Zena and Zahra; two Kenyan Nubian women who having faced their own struggles obtaining an ID, are driven to give a voice to the voiceless. Their journey to engage, educate and empower their community has led them to become community paralegals working at the Nubian Rights Forum; a place that not only acts as a knowledge base, but a foundation for the Nubians - a vibrant place often filled with diverse sounds discussing rights, responsibilities and reform. It's the building block for the local marginalised population, and it serves as an important reminder that we must never stop caring, supporting and speaking up for the forgotten.
