The Phone Shop Project

  • Tin-Chih Chang
E-waste is the fastest growing waste stream in the world, but despite its harmful environmental side effects, it is largely ignored.
By transforming the Bemerton Arts Studio into a phone shop, the project reveals the e-waste life cycle from purchase to illegal recycling. As a metaphor, the baking workshop guides the audience through the life cycle of electronic products from the high street to the food chain of the developing world.
