The Sea Around Me

  • Michelle de Clercq

These images are about a longing and disconnect with nature after moving to the city, London. About noticing how empty the night’s sky was without its stars. About finding escapes to the countryside and creating fantasy worlds of nature through photography. In a way, a part of nature that could be taken back to the city. If you look at the images with time and stillness – a delicate sound can be heard. They create a kind of intimacy, a haptic closeness, an internal voyage. We begin to see this world in a view of something else.
