The Sexual Enlightenment

“Sex education… often leaves out important information about our bodies and sexual and vaginal health. We’re expected to figure it out on our own, often through watching bad porn, googling, and experiences with partners that we wish we could erase from our memories.” Devra Ferst, Teen Vogue Gender equality has been at the forefront of the media and public conversation for a long time. Some areas in this space have seen strides, but the subject of female sexual pleasure and wellness has been deprioritised in sex education, in health research and society as a whole.

A 7 day full takeover from The Case for Her of TeenVogues platforms, from their website to social media. Offering a new educational manual for all learning about their own journey through sexuality, appealing to those from the age of 14 to 24 and onwards. A sexual enlightenment for all, using guides from Greek mythology to help you find your way through the myths that we all hear and have succumbed to.

Alongside this takeover is the launch of The Gold Stocking Society subscription pack and podcast; the name inspired by The Blue Stocking Society, a group of 18th century women who simply wanted to learn. Each month members are treated to not only a more indepth dive of articles, quizzes and samples from independant companies but also a bi weekly podcast; week one talking to celebrities discussing what they wish they had learnt in sex education and how they wish they had learnt it, and week 2 taking themes from the celebrity conversations and dispelling the myths that may have come to light.

Sex Education is so varied around the world, with it being affected by religion, governments and social norms. Some feeding into the contemporary myths we have all heard at one point or another.

The Sexual Enlightenment takeover aims to create a platform in which those myths no longer linger at the forefront.
