This podcast was a collaboration between The University of Southampton's ERASMUS team and Surge Radio. It was developed with the intention to give students an idea of what studying abroad is really like and to encourage them to join the scheme. Having experienced many boring presentations and information booklets I knew that I had to develop this podcast to be down to earth and featuring real experiences, both good and bad. In that mindset this podcast is structured to be an interview of those students who had been on these schemes, but cleverly disguised as an informal casual chat. Additionally it was presented by staff from the ERASMUS team to give that duality of viewpoints allowing the listener to hear both sides; and their knowledge on the subject gave incredible depth to the interview. This podcast was one of Surge Radio's best performing podcasts and subsequently was nominated for "Best Audience Initiative" a national award at the I Love Student Radio Awards 2019 in Swansea.
