'The Tale of Mr. Toad & Rosie Ribbit' (Final Publication)

  • Emily Sharp

'The Tale of Mr. Toad and Rosie Ribbit' is a whimsical narrative of two toads who romantically fall in love at the lily ponds annual summer picnic. I have developed this narrative over the course of my final year and fully illustrated it in my final project at university. My final book publication is specifically for children between the ages of 2-8 years old. The book is a luxurious and precious item to be valued and passed on for generations. The narrative itself is written in a mature and detailed way, similar to the style of Beatrix Potter’s writing, where elements or words within the book need to be explained and read out loud to the child. This links to my ongoing concept of value, as the book becomes a special item designed to be enjoyed and shared by both the parent and child. This creates personal and intimate memories over storytelling and reading.
