The Two Brides- Short Film and Magazine Ad Campaign (2020)

This project hope is to showcase the solutions to promote racial and cultural equality through a fashion and beauty ad film. This film focuses on creating experiences for different cultures to embrace, intertwine and learn from one another through the celebration of auspicious and celebratory events such as marriage and weddings. The theme is inspired by Lewis Carroll's poem 'Through the Looking Glass' (1871) as it discusses themes of reflection, role reversal and identity. The perspective for this film comes from my own view as a British born, Pakistani women, enabled to embrace, share and celebrate both sides of my cultural identity. I view this strive for cultural diversity and appreciation as a sisterhood as it comes with a love/hate relationship which is why the two models are to be portrayed in a sisterly manner. Despite the ups and downs in the pursuit for change, in the end we all strive for one thing: equality, love and acceptance between all races, colours and cultures.
