“Unpretentious” is a fictional fashion magazine accessible online, existing in a digital space in between reality and fiction. Playing with the combination of the real and the fake, the tangible and the digital, the text of its articles is taken from an online archive of spam mail, its editorial is set in a hotel room rendered on 3D studio max, the clothes worn by the model seem off.
For the editorial I screen printed a series of patterns on cotton, then I dressed the model digitally by drawing on him the clothes, filling them with the textures of the prints. Paired with a digital set created through a collaboration with the set designer Francesca D’Alessio, this digital styling placed the model in a luxurious, alternative virtual reality.
