Third Thursday: Charcoal Workshop with Richard Rochester at the Royal Society of Sculptors

Artist Richard Rochester has been working with charcoal for many years, pushing the boundaries of this historical medium in drawing practices. Join him for an inspiring and informative workshop in the beautiful setting of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Kensington. The two and a half hour workshop will gives you all the tools and skills to confidently create art with charcoal. Take advantage of Richard’s expertise and learn about its vast history, try out various kinds of charcoal and charcoal techniques, and get inventive with its endless creative possibilities. Richard teaches at Cass Art Islington, Cass Art Bristol and art groups across the South-West England. His forthcoming book on charcoal Charcoal. Techniques and Tutorials for the Complete Beginner will be published in 2020 by the Guild of Master Craftsmen Publishing. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own work of charcoal art to take home, using the tools provided and the techniques shown. Only 20 places available so early booking advised.
