THREAD TALES : Master Project at LCF

I have taken the opportunity to work on the topic of losing heritage and hardships faced by the today’s generation of artisans in my master project. The story of an artisan from India of today’s generation. The dilemma she faces whether to keep the heritage alive or move into a profession for a better livelihood. My performer will be weaving through the thoughts and agony because of the handlooms losing their importance due to the globalisation. “Custodians of the heritage of India but on the other hand deprived of all the modern facilities and financial assistance.” This project is created to bring in light to different elements that is affecting a whole section of the community which upholds the cultural and traditional grounds of India.
