Tasked to research on an archival object – a 1950s Palestinian Djellabah from the Ramallah region, I looked at the relevant garments and accessories associated with it and subsequently, at the region's socio-political history and its influence on the development of its clothing and textiles; concluding that these form an important role in preserving traditions and constructing a unified national identity. Eventually, I came to the same conclusion by digging into the history of Vietnamese traditional clothing and textiles. Vietnamese by nationality, I decided to develop a collection from the latter research, in an attempt to unify the beautiful diversity of Vietnamese 54 ethnicities.
