TMNT x Prospect 100 Design Competition Semi Finalist
A reimagination of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the TMNT x Prospect 100 global design contest.
When reimagining the turtles I took influence from vintage fashion, these designs show how the turtles would dress if they threw together costumes from a thrift store.
I gave Michelangelo a classic Hawaiian shirt with some tasteful short shorts. He is not one to let his ego get in the way of his fashion choices. Raphael definitely takes himself too seriously, so I gave him an edgy jacket with some bright basketball shorts to bring the fit down to the fun nature of the franchise. I also gave him some band aids and a temporary pizza tattoo, as he is a teenager. I decided to keep it simple for Leonardo, with a turtleneck, some dad jeans and sports shoes. I thought it’d be fun to give him a dad vibe as he is the leader of the group. Finally, I dressed Donatello in a western cowboy shirt with some black jeans. He’s cool in a real dorky way. As he’s an inventor I finished his outfit with a bandolier for all his tools. I topped off all of their outfits with some practical skate pads to save their knees.
