Too Glam To Give A Damn - Photoshoot

  • Inês Costa

This is the photoshoot result, part of a Uni project submitted in April 2021. The Fashion Styling + Identity Project explored styling as the main subject and aimed to produce Fashion Editorial Images that successfully communicated a chosen identity. I had to create an overall concept and inspiration based on research and analysis, put together a team, do the styling + coordinating and producing the photoshoot, and do the pos-production. I looked at the question "Can a man be glamorous? Research and discuss to what extent glamour is a gendered concept" and explored the 'aged' aesthetic of Glamour, affirming that man can be glamorous in a way that I think is new. The overall imagery is simple, but at the same time, has some provocative ideas. Accessories and jewellery were the chosen product category. I implemented pearl necklaces as the main accessory, which instantly refers to Glamour's idea; also belts, shoulder bags with crystals, a scarf and jewellery - rings, necklaces, earrings, ear cuffs and a body chain. In addition, we used makeup and hair as an accessory, having different makeup looks for the different outfits.
