Tools for memory and other thoughts (Shelf)

  • Jake Robertson

Personal possessions, memories, pictures, corks, tickets, letters, notes, smells, recollections, thoughts, feelings, good times, bad times, trash, events, names, places, faces, holidays, first dates, last dates, lost ones, new ones, old ones, days, nights, journeys, destinations, plans, accidents, families, friends, deaths, births, houses, hotels, objects, souvenirs, cheap bits, priceless items. The shelf, composed of black dyed through-out valchromat, an LED insert, and a pull switch, showcases the objects we hold close to our memories. Part of the ‘Tools for Memory and Other Thoughts’ collection, the shelf uses the hidden light to put a spotlight on the object beneath, separate from the objects in the space next to it. This is to help promote an interest in the objects that capture memories.
