Tree Museum

Designed for D&AD New Blood 2020: Google & HMCT. Tree Museum was made in collaboration with Ashley Cope (@ashleycopeillustrate). Using Joni Mitchell's 'Big Yellow Taxi' as the key song, with a focus on deforestation. Taking an environmental approach to design, it was decided to only use one ink to print in (black), printed at an 80% opacity, along with this a taxi inspired checkerboard pattern was used over the text as cut-outs so even less ink was required per letter. We created an album cover for Joni Mitchell's 'Big Yellow Taxi', with facts about deforestation on the back cover. Along with this we created a t-shirt and tote bag design. The tags we designed for the merchandise are printed on seeded paper so the buyer can plant the tag when they buy an item to plant a tree themselves.
