Triptych No.1
The idea of creating this triptych came from one National Portrait Gallery’s painting. Portrait of a Woman of the Hofer Family is by unknown artist, created about 1410. The fly on a sitter’s headdress is considered to be a symbol of a mortality. I am fascinated by what passing time causes. I used a women’s body as a canvas to reflect on my contemplation over time, life and death. A fly as an indicator of coming death was a starting point for constructing of a triptych focusing on aging of human body and its’ deconstruction as well as possible approach towards coming death- third picture.
